Over the July 9-10 weekend come and discover the fascinating experiences of the City of Pawtucket???s creative community.

Pawtucket is celebrating its 130th anniversary as a city this year, is the actual birthplace of America???s Industrial Revolution, and the centerpiece of the new Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park.

However, the city over the last two decades has transformed itself into one of Southern New England???s vibrant cultural arts and entertainment venues. Today, residents and visitors to Pawtucket have an array of performing and visual arts to explore.

Live & Local On Stage!

Celebrating its 95th season this year as Rhode Island???s oldest live stage theater troupe, The Community Players present another rendition of popular American plays.??

July 8-17, see the performance of Steel Magnolias at the theater group???s summer location, Goff Middle School, 974 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.

The play evolves around a group of Louisiana women who bond and gossip at a local beauty shop while following the marriage and motherhood of one of the customer’s daughters.??

Summer Sunday Music by the River!

Summertime in Downtown Pawtucket is filled with the sounds of great live and locally noted musicians and bands every Sunday night, at 6 pm, starting July 10, and every Sunday through August 21.

Attend any of the FREE Sunday Riverfront Summer Concerts at the Veterans Memorial Amphitheatre, located at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue & Exchange Street.

The concerts will present an array of musical stylings all summer long in an urban open air concert venue along the Blackstone American Heritage River.

The concerts scheduled include:

Through November, the City of Pawtucket Art Gallery, inside City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue, offers 40 Years of Art in Pawtucket, a visual display showcasing the visual works and creative talents of local residents.
