Weaver Library is proud to present a display and conversation with accomplished wildlife artist and bird carver Mr. Ray Tameo on Monday, May 15, 2016 at 7pm.??????A self-taught artist, Ray has been observing, drawing, painting, and carving birds for a lifetime.
Typically carving only ten birds each year, Ray can spend 150 hours on a bird as small as a chickadee.?? His carvings are noted for their accuracy and for the natural settings on which his birds are displayed. ??
If you haven???t had the opportunity to see Ray’s work at the annual November Audubon Society’s Bird Wildlife Carving Exposition, don’t miss your chance to do so at the Weaver Library.
A collector of antique duck decoys, Ray has entered artwork for the Massachusetts Duck Stamp competition.?? He has taught bird carving classes for the Audubon Society of RI. ??Ray also loves to paint, and has generously donated a painting for a raffle to be held at the end of the evening.?? Both the raffle and the program are free and open to all.
