Teen Anime Club

Are you a teen bursting to talk about your favorite anime shows and characters? Make new friends who are also dying to talk anime! Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join other fans of Japanese animation to hang out, get to know some new anime, some older anime, and enjoy pizza provided by the library on Thursday July 12th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the Campbell Auditorium. We watch all different genres including battle anime, fantasy, science fiction, comedy, adventure, and more. The program is free and no registration is required. Cinematic Snacking for Teens

Libraries Rock and we???re going to celebrate by watching a movie all about music! Teens ages 12-18 are invited to the library to watch a Japanese movie all about a group of girls racing against time to learn three songs for their school festival???s music contest. To immerse ourselves fully in the experience we will also enjoy a few different Japanese snacks. This movie features lots of great music including a few recognizable tunes. Jiu-Jitsu for Teens

On Thursday July 19th from 3-4:00 pm the Pawtucket Public Library invites teens ages 12-18 to participate in a free Jiu-Jitsu workshop. Come and have fun at this energetic and hands-on introduction to self-defense. Teens will be able to break a board, learn some self-defense moves, and boost their self-confidence! The program is free and no registration is required.

Support for the Summer Reading Program comes from the RI Office of Library and Information Services and the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Friends of the Pawtucket Public Library. Book Club for Teens Begin Sign-Ups

Reference Desk

Teens ages 12-18 are invited to sign up for the August Book Club for Teens program at the Pawtucket Library???s Reference Desk. Our first book club???s title is Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes. The realistic fiction story highlights a diverse group of high school students thrown together in detention who form a band to play at a school talent show. They end up competing with a wildly popular local rock band. The first 14 kids to register for the program will receive a free paperback copy of the book.
