WHY:            

Archie, Festival Ballet Providence’s beloved Nutcracker mascot is retiring. After 19 years in FBP’s annual holiday production of The Nutcracker, this adorable senior citizen (he’s a mere 92 in human years) has achieved stardom in his annual romp across the Providence Performing Arts Center stage and is ready for the next chapter. He’s ready to take a break and enjoy his senior years in relaxation.

 

RECORD-BREAKING NUMBER OF PERFORMANCES

 

In our last release we stated Archie had made more than 125 performance. In reality, he has appeared in 150 performances.  What a record!

 

HOW:            

Pre-registration is not required. Participation is free and open to any and all canine applicants. Participants can drop in to register and audition on the day of the event. All participants will receive an exclusive discount code for Nutcracker tickets.

 

CASTING CRITERIA

 

The criteria are simple: Does your pup have an elegant prance? A regal coat of fur? A charming smile? Have you always wanted a peek behind-the-scenes at the life of a professional ballet dancer? Can he or she handle the paparazzi?
