THE GASPEE DAYS PARADE – PAWTUXET, RI

Event Overview

The Gaspee Days Parade is a vibrant celebration that commemorates the burning of the British revenue schooner HMS Gaspee in 1772, an event recognized as a significant act of defiance leading up to the American Revolution. This annual parade features a variety of participants, including colonial groups, fife and drum corps, fire trucks, and the Shriners in their miniature cars, making it a colorful and lively event for all ages. 

Additional Event

In addition to the parade, the Gaspee Days celebration includes a 5K Foot Race: June 14, 2025, before the parade. 

The parade takes place along a two-mile stretch of Narragansett Parkway in Pawtuxet Village, where friends and neighbors gather to enjoy the festivities and celebrate Rhode Island’s rich revolutionary history

RIPTA to Detour Route 4 (Warwick Neck) to Accommodate Gaspee Days Parade on Saturday, June 14, 2025

Providence, Rhode Island – The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Route 4 (Warwick Neck) on Saturday, June 14, 2025, to accommodate the Gaspee Days Parade. The detour will be in effect from the first trip of the day until 2:00 pm.
