Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England Donates Cookies to Local Organizations
WARWICK, RI (June 26, 2025)—Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) has donated over 36,000 Girl Scout Cookie packages this year to local organizations throughout the community through a local community service project called Cookie Share.

These organizations included the Rhode Island Food Bank, Women & Infants Hospital, PACE Organization of RI, Rhode Island Blood Center, Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP), the Jonnycake Center, and local first responders.
Cookie Share is a Girl Scout Cookie Program related service project that GSSNE implements each year where customers support Girl Scouts by purchasing a package of cookies that is then donated to local organizations such as food banks, shelters, military, and hospitals. Giving back to the community is an important part of what Girl Scouts learn through participating in the Cookie Program. Troops and service units can also collect cookie share at in-person booth sales which they donate to their own local organizations.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program—the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world—funds life-changing programs, experiences, and learning for local youth and Girl Scout troops all year long. 100% of the proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie Program stay local, powering essential leadership development programming and meaningful community impact.
“The Girl Scout Cookie Program is an important component of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The sale of these delicious treats help fund troop programs, camp, financial aid, travel, and provides youth with important skills that last a lifetime. These skills include decision making, people skills, money management, and much more. All cookie proceeds stay local, and the Girl Scout Cookie Program helps put profits back in the hands of youth, creates mechanisms for youth to be the decision-makers of how funding is spent, and teaches them to work both independently and as a team.,” said Ginger Lallo, Chief Operating Officer at GSSNE.

We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs across Southeastern New England, girls and gender-expansive youth of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves in a safe space as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges. Backed by strong friendships and trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. Girl Scouts feel comfortable trying new things without the pressure to be perfect, speaking their minds and processing their emotions in healthy ways. They discover how being different makes them special, strengthens their sense of belonging, and, ultimately, makes them proud to be themselves. That’s the magic of Girl Scouting.
