Friend,
A wave of dangerous legislation just hit Congress, and if passed, it could spell disaster for our most vulnerable wildlife – including Grizzly bears.

Lawmakers and their corporate cronies have been champing at the bit to eradicate protections for endangered species, and now they may get their chance. We’ll tell you exactly what’s at stake – but we’re asking for your help to fight back.

Grizzlies In the Crosshairs
The House Natural Resources Committee just passed the Grizzly Bear State Management Act of 2025, a bill that would strip Endangered Species Act protections from grizzlies in the areas bordering Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and ban any judicial review. That means no legal recourse, no checks or balances, and no second chances.
Grizzly bear numbers in the lower 48 once plummeted to fewer than 1,000. Thanks to ESA protections, they have made a slow but steady recovery. Removing those protections now would be catastrophic and would set a dangerous precedent for other species.
If this bill becomes law, the effects on grizzlies and other imperiled species could be devastating and irreversible.
All Species At Risk
Anti-environmental bills are moving through the House that would gut core protections under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA). These laws have protected species such as bald eagles, manatees, and whales for decades. But now, lawmakers backed by corporate polluters are trying to dismantle them.
One bill would force federal agencies to relax their standards for evaluating the “best available science,” opening the door to flawed research when deciding whether to delist a species. Another paves the way for easier industry exemptions that allow for the destruction of endangered habitats.
But You Can Help
If these bills pass, hundreds of at-risk species will lose protection. We have successfully defended against attacks like this before–your support helped stop the last Congress from passing a grizzly delisting bill. But this new wave of legislation is broader, more aggressive, and moving quickly.
Rush a donation today to help us mobilize public support, pressure Cngress, and power all of our campaigns to protect threatened wildlife and natural habitats.
Your support powers the Sierra Club’s work to defend the wild and the creatures that call it home. We are attending hearings, collaborating with legal and policy partners, and mobilizing grassroots members in every state.
Let’s make sure Congress hears us loud and clear: We will not let endangered species be sacrificed for profit.

Thank you for fighting alongside us.
Thank you,
The Sierra Club Team
