A special fourth Sunday of the month Jazz Jam. Come listen to or perform Jazz Standards with Fred Boyle, Ron Ormsby, and Bart Weisman!

Since 2006, this has been the only Jazz Jam on Cape Cod. Professional and student musicians perform Jazz Standards with Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.

21st Annual Provincetown Jazz Festival: Shawnn Monteiro and Cape Cod Jazz Trio

Enjoy this year’s Provincetown Jazz Festival with music performed by vocalist Shawnn Monteiro and the Cape Cod Jazz Trio. The concert will open with the Cape Cod Jazz Trio performing original compositions by Fred Boyle (piano) accompanied by Ron Ormsby (bass) and Bart Weisman (drums). You do not want to miss this much-anticipated summer favorite.

Shawnn Monteiro

Shawnn Monteiro is a Rhode Island-based jazz vocalist and percussionist. Daughter of renowned bassist Jimmy Woode, Shawnn’s career began in the early 1970s, when she was discovered by Afro/Cuban jazz pioneer Mongo Santamaria — she joined his band and then launched a solo career and began touring internationally. She has recorded seven albums and toured all over the world, even performing in Siberia. A 2024 Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee, Shawnn is also a dedicated and beloved music educator, teaching master classes in voice in Italy since 1995 and as an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College and the University of Hartford.

Cape Cod Jazz Trio

Cape Cod Jazz Trio (CCJT) is comprised of three of Cape Cod’s top jazz musicians: Fred Boyle on piano from South Yarmouth, Ron Ormsby on bass from Centerville, and Bart Weisman on drums from Orleans. The CCJT has accompanied vocalists Dane Vannatter, Siobhan Magnus, Cassandre McKinley, Tish Adams, Leslie Boyle, Lori Colombo, and Krisanthi Pappas. Since 2009, the CCJT has appeared at concerts, events, and restaurants across Cape Cod, including the Provincetown Jazz Festival, and off-Cape in Providence (RI), Nantucket, Plymouth, and Boston.

Adding to the magic, Ken Field—saxophonist, flutist, and master of New Orleans-infused grooves—will share original compositions that will stir your spirit. Together with The Conversation jazz trio—Mitch Seidman on guitar and Jerry Willfong on bass—this promises to be an intimate, joyful evening of melody, memory, and musical chemistry.
