Bite by Bite: Nourishments & Jamborees is the 2025 Community Read
By Amy Rhilinger on August 20, 2025
We hope you are hungry for a good book because you are going to devour this year’s shared title! Chosen for its broad appeal to avid book lovers, reluctant readers and foodies, Bite by Bite explores the many memories and associations that food can hold.

The kickoff event to the Community Read is September 6th from 2-4pm at the Attleboro Arts Museum. This is the opening reception of Frost Bite: Memories Masquerading as Frozen Treats.
In this exhibit, artists from the Seekonk Artist Network were inspired by the sensory nature of Bite by Bite, the essay on “shave ice” in particular, tapping into the unexpected power of a frozen treat.

From the siren song of an ice cream truck, to deciding on which pretty flavor to fill your paper cup – Frost Bite will explore experiences, identities, milestones, family, neighborhoods and sensory triggers that will surely resonate with gallery goers and spark wonderful conversations.

The Community Read is generously sponsored by The Max and Marion Volterra Foundation, Bristol County Savings Bank, the Friends of the Attleboro Library and the Attleboro Arts Museum. Watch this space for many more exciting programs for all ages!
