The Modern Languages Department invites applications for part-time instructors in Portuguese starting Fall 2018. We are seeking applicants who are qualified to teach in our Portuguese B.A. program. Topics include Elementary-Intermediate Portuguese language and Lusophone cultures.
Founded in 1854, Rhode Island College is a distinctive regional college personalizing education for undergraduate and graduate students. The college serves approximately 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students through its five schools: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. The 180-acre campus is located in beautiful, historic Providence, Rhode Island???s capital, with excellent proximity to the academic and cultural resources of Boston and New York City.
Rate per credit hour: $1290/credit hour??
Required qualifications: Master???s degree in Portuguese or related field; native or near-native fluency in Portuguese with experience of teaching in higher education; familiarity with??ACTFL??professional standards; familiarity with use of technology in language education.
Preferred qualifications: College-level language teaching experience.
