New Year’s Check-in

STEVE DUBIN
Creating a marketing plan can leave many a small business owner scratching his/her heads wondering where to begin. The list below contains the basics for a small business marketing plan and a good place to begin.
Newsletter– a great way to remind your current customers and network about what you do and what you’re up to.
Press release– Have a new product or service? New staff member? Celebrating a milestone? These are just a few reasons to push out a release, get coverage on a local basis and enhance your online reputation.
Social media– Are you posting to your social media sites? How frequently? Set up a plan to post at least a few times a week to stay current with your customers and network.
Blog/website additions– When was the last time you posted to your website? A blog is a great way to keep your website active. The content you are using for press releases newsletters can be posted to your blog and/or newsroom.
Google Business Profile– Are you collecting reviews and testimonials on your Google Business Profile. Have you claimed your profile? Have you asked people for reviews and testimonials? Putting together a program can be as simple as including a link in your enewsletter.
These are just a starting point for a marketing plan. There are several marketing programs you can also put in place—e.g., email marketing, podcasts, speaker’s bureau, etc.
