We are nearing the end of the restoration of The Spire Center in Plymouth, an 1884 Methodist Church is being restored by www.spencerpreservationgroup.com/spirecenter <http://www.spencerpreservationgroup.com/spirecenter>  including detailed restoration of the spire (original paint analysis and detailed restoration of decorative elements using historic photos). They have done preservation work on a few properties in Plymouth and do exceptional work, you can contact Lynn Spencer lynne@spencerpreservationgroup.com <mailto:lynne@spencerpreservationgroup.com

The Newton Upper Falls Historic District Commission approved a successful steeple restoration project for an 1827 church at 15-21 Summer St. Southgate Steeplejacks (Barre VT) were able to replicate details and elements that couldn’t be restored, as well as making the structure and installation more water proof. If the cupola can’t be restored, then replication should absolutely be possible.

I am curious – why does the existing cupola need to be demolished? Seems like a very important architectural element!
