Greening the Sphere, June 17th, Hope and Main, Warren, RI

On June 17, 2017, community members from across Massachusetts and Rhode Island will be attending Greening the Sphere???s first annual sustainability festival located at Hope and Main of Warren, RI from 11AM to 5PM. The sustainability festival will offer community members a chance to engage in and explore various topics related to the maintenance and protection of our home, the earth. The festival will feature speakers, workshops, and activities that are meant to engage and empower adult community members and leaders of the future, our youth, in acting responsibly in the stewardship of the earth. Some topics include:??in-case-of-emergency (ICE) preparation, foraging, permaculture, waste management, bee keeping, organic food education, production and utilization of natural dyes, and local farming.
In the midst of climate change, the potential for pollution of waterways, economic instability, dependence on non-renewable energy sources, amongst a plethora of other issues, it is important now, more than ever, for our communities across the globe to be aware of our relationship to the earth and its inhabitants. We must recognize our interconnectedness, restore balance where it has been compromised, and create innovative solutions to the issues we face so that future generations can live in peace and harmony here on earth.??
The formation of Greening the Sphere came about as a result of a group manifestation class led by founder, Shari Bitsis. It was a heart-centered connection to and for the earth that inspired the inception of the group and it was the immutable recognition that our youth are the future of our world that made necessary the formation of the Greening the Sphere Youth Council. The Youth Council serves to empower youth in acquiring and developing leadership skills that will allow them to confidently address the issues we face as a global community, beginning at the immediate community level. We are urging all members of our community to join us at the sustainability festival on June 17th, and beyond, in the restoration of our dear home, the earth.??
