Attleboro’s Kindness Community Read Kindness Club for Grades 5-12 (Wed., Nov. 13, 3:30-4:30pm): Inspired by the Olivia Knighton Foundation, this new monthly program will connect youth to spread kindness in the city. During this session, kids will create pins with kind messages to give away!
Attleboro’s Veterans READ! (Mon., Nov. 18, 6:30-7:30pm): Join Ben Quelle, Attleboro’s Veterans Agent, for a story and activity! Learn about what it means to be in the military and some of the jobs that military members do–then do a fun craft.
This program is part of Attleboro’s Reading Passport program for kids K-4, so bring your passport to be stamped! Kindness Book Group
(Sat., Nov. 23, 10-11am):
Enjoy a book discussion of the latest of the four featured books of the Kindness Community Read: Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde. Join Reader Services Coordinator Darcie for a lively discussion. We hope this book will inspire many acts of kindness! Have you witnessed an act of kindness lately?
If so, please share by writing it on a “link” of silver or gold paper located near the elevator. APL staff will add it to a paper chain representing Attleboro’s jewelry history.
Puzzle Race (Sat., Nov. 9, 2-4pm):
Do you have what it takes to be the Puzzle Champions of Attleboro? One team has held this title for the past two races. Put together a team of no more than five (5) of your best puzzle-making friends, and register to reserve your spot: dschillinger@sailsinc.org.
Meet Kate Robinson, Attleboro’s Social Worker (Thurs., Nov. 14, 6:30-7:30pm):
Learn more about what the city social worker does and why Attleboro needs one. This is your opportunity to meet Kate Robinson in person and learn more about the resources available in the City.
Friends’ Annual Book Sale (Sat., Nov. 16, 9am):
Find your next great read while supporting the Friends of APL! Browse thousands of titles organized by topic and age level.
All items will be affordably priced, with cash and credit cards accepted.
You’ll also be able to purchase some new Friends swag: library mugs, cozy fleece blankets, and 2025 calendars!
Craft Club:
Bookpage Banners (Grades 5-12) (Wed., Nov. 20, 6-7pm): In the latest edition of this popular program, participants will make festive decorative banners for holiday decor or a fun addition to any room! Book Groups – Visit attleborolibrary.org to learn about the book discussions happening at the Library, or visit the Circulation Desk to learn more about what titles are being discussed this month.
