Mayflower Metal Embossing Workshop

Thursday, Jun 12, 2025
5:00pm–7:30pm
Plimoth Patuxet Museums
Tickets Starting at $70
Along with national treasures such as the Statue of Liberty and the Lincoln Memorial, Mayflower is an iconic symbol of freedom. Of the hundreds of ships that made the transatlantic crossing in the 1600s, she is the ship we remember. Three hundred years later, on June 13, 1957, a full-scale reproduction arrived in Plymouth Harbor, Mayflower II.
Participants in this unique workshop will have the exclusive opportunity to hear about the rich history of Mayflower II from Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ Executive Director, Tom Begley. From her maiden transatlantic voyage to her award-winning restoration project, learn the story of Mayflower II from a trained historian at the helm of the Museum that has been the proud steward of Mayflower II‘s story for more than 65 years.
Following Tom Begley’s presentation, Keely from ‘Made In Manomet’, will lead participants in creating an embossed Mayflower-inspired keepsake. Choose between a flower or ship design template before you begin embossing. Your finished piece will be adhered to wood and measure roughly 5 in x 5 inches.
Designed for guests at all levels of art experience, this class is the perfect way to explore the layered stories of Mayflower II. Come solo, bring a friend, or gather your crew – all are welcome aboard!
