TEN MILE RIVER – A LEGACY HIKE

Count me in!   Allison Newsome

The Ten Mile River is 22 miles long and drains an area of 54 square miles in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It starts at Savage Pond in Plainville, flows through North Attleboro, Attleboro, Seekonk, Pawtucket and flows into the Seekonk River of Narragansett Bay in East Providence.

The Friends are the voice of the river in Massachusetts and are proud members of the Massachusetts Rivers Alliance. We protect our watershed through action, advocacy and education.

We lead the public on guided tours, perform many cleanups a year, and advocate for wetland protection, trail development, drought management, and dam removal and management.

We have built partnerships with other organizations in the Attleboro area to further protect our natural resources. Please visit out Facebook page to stay up to date on events and projects.

…Good Afternoon, 30 years ago, Don Doucette and a friend walked the entire length of the Ten Mile River from its source in Plainville to Narragansett Bay in East Providence. In 2021, Friends of the Ten Mile …

We will share history and stories along the way and will check out some scenic areas. We hope you will join us for this fun event.
