WOMR Presents The Gold Rush (1925) with Live Musical Accompaniment

Provincetown, MA — This October, WOMR again launches its classic film series with a special screening of Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush, marking 100 years since its original release in 1925.
Widely regarded as one of Chaplin’s masterpieces, The Gold Rush blends humor and pathos against the backdrop of the Klondike Gold Rush. Chaplin wrote, produced, and directed the film, while also starring as his beloved Little Tramp character. The film includes some of the most iconic scenes in cinema history, including the famous “boot-eating” sequence and the whimsical “dance of the rolls.”
The screening will feature live musical accompaniment by Dinah Mellin and Bill Cannon, bringing the silent classic to life in true vintage style. Presented on reel film, The Gold Rush will be shown at 7:30 PM on Thursday, October 2, in the WOMR Davis Space at the Schoolhouse, 494 Commercial Street, Provincetown.
