BRISTOL HISTORIC TREE WALK
with Bill Chittick
Bill Chittick, local historian and tree expert, will once again lead us through the manicured grounds of four private estates that we pass by every day, often without a thought to their historic significance.
Many of the landscape treasures come from other continents, yet some of the most remarkable specimens are native, including two of Rhode Island’s largest (and oldest) Tulip trees.
Bill will not only discuss growth of the plants but will also highlight how the landscape and historic architecture are intertwining pieces of what makes Bristol uniquely beautiful and a leader in today’s “green” movement.
