Cape Cod rocks the ’60s again with Beatles energy and brilliant originals from Ian Motha, live for one night only!

Ian Motha is a singer/songwriter, self- taught multi-instrumentalist from the south coast of Massachusetts. Since 2008, he has been performing and writing songs. Ian began his career performing in local pool bars, dance halls and house parties, eventually finding his way on stage at the world-famous Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles and The Cavern in Liverpool, England.

He performs regularly in Providence, Boston, Cape Cod and Newport. Ian shared billings with Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork of the Monkees, Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Susan Cowsill of the Cowsills. Along with his band, Ian had the honor of sharing a stage with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Greg Hawkes of The Cars. Ian formed New England’s premier 60s tribute band 60s Thunder. Because of his versatility and vast knowledge of Beatles music, Ian is often called by local artists to fill in on bass guitar, rhythm or lead guitar, or keyboards.

Ian’s original music is influenced by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Oasis, John Mayer, The Strokes, and The Kooks. His music weaves song structures of the 1960’s with melodic bass lines, and is decorated with colorful guitar work, and 80’s sounding synthesizers.

Ian began song writing at a young age and has continued to work on his craft for many years. He has released several songs with his former bands, The Anchors and Apples. His original music has been featured on local radio stations including the former WBRU of Providence, Rhode Island.

“Susan Lambert’s performance (her acting skills are extraordinary) was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Her choice of songs, to help her tell her soul seeking story were perfection and Jon’s arrangements were beyond exquisite.

If You Could Read My Mind. Don’t miss it the next time around. You will be transported.”

– Jane Staab, director and founder of Wheelock Family Theatre

“Susan Lambert’s new one-woman show, If You Could Read My Mind, presented for one night only at Wellfleet Preservation Hall, absolutely shimmered with light and love and, perhaps, more than just a little wisdom.

Lambert’s voice ripples with warmth and confidence. She’s a performer in the French chanteuse tradition, reminding me of one of my favorite performers, Juliette Greco, with her easy chanson à texte transition into each song, her ability to convey emotions through words transitioning into rich, tonal melody.

The breadth of songs she chooses with which to tell her story reveals something about her own range of ability: there are songs from musicals (Follies, Waitress, Ever After, La Cage aux Folles), which require different skills than some of the character songs she chooses (from Mary Chapin Carpenter, Gordon Lightfoot, and Fleetwood Mac, among others).”
