RIPTA Postpones 60th Anniversary Open House Event to Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Anticipation of Potential Nor’easter

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is inviting the public to celebrate 60 years of public transit in Rhode Island at a special Open House on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at RIPTA headquarters, 705 Elmwood Avenue, Providence. The event, originally scheduled for September 26, has been postponed due to the potential nor’easter this weekend.
This free, family-friendly event will give the community a behind-the-scenes look at RIPTA and the people who keep Rhode Island moving. Guests will have the opportunity to tour RIPTA facilities, explore the agency’s fleet, learn more about public transportation, and meet the people behind RIPTA.
