Kids Halloween Costume Swap

Back for another Halloween season! Come to the Weaver Library Children’s Room during our normal business hours with a gently used costume and leave with something new-to-you. All kid costumes accepted. You do not have to donate a costume to take one.

Pumpkin Stroll

All ages
Featuring contests with gift card prizes for best pumpkin carving and best costume. Free pumpkins will be available at the library the week before the event with a limit of 1 per family. New this year will be a special and spooky Halloween-themed Pajama Storytime at 6:30pm, outside on the lawn—this time wearing Halloween costumes! The storytime portion will take place inside if there is inclement weather.

Mother Goose of Once Upon a Story Hour will read her favorite silly stories and teach some sign language, then everyone will make a fun craft.

Families with children ages 2-6
Wear pajamas, bring stuffed animals, and help yourself to tea or hot cocoa while enjoying this special bedtime-themed storytime. The October 29th Pajama Storytime will be themed around Halloween and take place outside on the lawn. As part of our Pumpkin Stroll event, you can come listen to Halloween stories and enjoy some fun songs. This storytime portion will take place inside if there is inclement weather.
All Aboard to Japan! — A Japanese Transportation Storytime with Chiho
Wednesday, October 21, 10am at Weaver Library
Ages 1-6
This special storytime program will be a fun, interactive transportation-themed adventure with a touch of Japanese language and culture taught by RI local Chiho Desmond from Ohisama, a playgroup that meets once a month to sing songs, read books, and learn about Japanese culture—all in Japanese.

Join us for songs, books, and bounces aimed at our littlest friends! Enjoy bonding time with your small ones and time to chat with other new and experienced parents.
Preschool Development Activities
Mondays, 10:30am at Fuller Creative Learning Center
Ages 3-5
Drop by on Monday mornings for themed learning activities. Children can explore a variety of centers such as sensory exploration, numbers, letters, fine motor, pretend play and more. No registration required.
Toddler/Preschool Storytime (and Halloween Storytime)

Ages 1-5, siblings welcome
Join us for stories, songs, and dancing, then time to play and socialize. There will also be a special Halloween-themed storytime on October 28th, so remember to wear your costumes!

October StoryWalkⓇ
All day, every day, all ages – on the lawn at Weaver Library
Our October picture book is The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt. StoryWalk® is a self-guided reading adventure that is available everyday for all ages. Pages of a picture book are displayed in frames on a trail around the perimeter of the lawn at Weaver Library. The goal of the StoryWalk® is to increase children’s interest in books and reading while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for all ages, and reconnecting children and adults to nature.
