??
Providence Children???s Museum is proud to offer free admission to all veterans and up to four of their guests on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, in honor of Veteran???s Day weekend.
Active duty military members and up to four of their guests may still enjoy free admission into the Museum, now extended year-round, through the Blue Star Museums program.
Blue Star Museums is a national effort to improve the quality of life for active duty military families, especially focusing on the approximately two million children who have had at least one parent deployed since 2001.
Blue Star Museums was created to show support for military families who have faced multiple deployments and the challenges of reintegration. Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation???s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day, May 29, through Labor Day, September 4, 2017.
This program offers these families a chance to visit museums through the summer months, when many have limited resources and limited time to be together.
Through tremendous response from the military community, the Museum has extended this discounted admission offer to active duty military personnel and their families throughout the year.
On Friday, November 10, the Museum will host a family concert with two-time Grammy Award winner and acclaimed storyteller and musician Bill Harley, with shows at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Tickets will be available 90 minutes before each concert time and are free with Museum admission.
Then, on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, visitors have the opportunity to be part of the Maker Movement through building and designing with creative energy to bring their imaginations to life in the Museum???s Maker Space from 11:00 AM ??? 2:00 PM!
Veterans and up to four of their guests may receive free admission into the Museum on both Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12 as a thank you from the Museum and community in honor of their service and dedication.
