TONY MEDEIROS
Twice a Year We will pick a ReStore staff member who not only goes above and beyond in their role here at the store but in doing so has somehow positively changed or touched the lives of others by the type of person they are and the work ethic they exhibit working here at the store. Tony is that person and much more.
I met Tony in mid-January as I was working with Manny Cunard, OCHFH Executive Directer to get the store ready to open and we were looking for a truck driver for picking up donations. Tony was recommended to us by a OCHFH board member and I had asked for Tony to stop by the store to talk about what we were going to be doing here, what we were looking for and how he would fit into the picture. When Tony arrived we happened to be unloading a trailer full of miscellaneous donations. Without hesitation Tony jumped right in. We held our entire “interview” while unloading that truck. It was the first time I met Tony but it was as if we had known each other forever.
Tony was hired as our Truck driver for donation pick ups but he is certainly way more than that. Tony is our number 1 salesman in the store as he talks to EVERY customer he comes in contact with spreading the mission of Habitat. Tony also takes great pride in working with Volunteer groups that help us out. Tony works side by side with many of these young people in sharing what work and service means to him and as far as I am concerened a lot of people could learn a lot about work ethic from Tony.
Please stop by the ReStore soon and Wish Tony Congratulations! He is a great Employee, Friend, Mentor, and most of all Tony is a great Person. Let him know it!!
