Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a wonderfully wacky weekend-long celebration full of Seussational activities.?? Based on Bartholomew and the Oobleck, get messy exploring an ooey-gooey slime-like substance.?? Make stylish Seussical headwear inspired by The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.?? Also play silly Seuss-inspired games, browse favorite Seuss stories, and more!

Play and Learn: Making Music

Play and Learn is the Museum???s open-ended story-based program for 2- to 4-year-olds and their parents, designed to help preschoolers build their skills in a variety of areas and to help parents continue the learning at home.?? This week, preschoolers experiment with loud, soft, high and low sounds as they use simple instruments.

Celtic Knots

Tuesday, March 7 – Friday, March 10?? ????? 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Kids learn to create their own Celtic knots using a variety of materials in Discovery Studio, the Museum???s open-ended art and science exploration space.?? Design a paper mosaic knot, and create Celtic knots from laces and string.

Toddler Try-It: Celtic Shapes

ALSO Friday, March 10?? ????? 10:00 AM – Noon

Young children, ages 18 months to 3 years, use real tools and explore the creative process as they delve into different hands-on art and science activities each Friday morning.?? This week, toddlers create patterns and Celtic designs using paper shapes and sticky paper.

Engineer It! Shadow Science

Saturday, March 11 & Sunday, March 12 ????? 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Explore and experiment during a monthly series of engineering challenges.?? Kids investigate the science of shadows as they test objects for opacity, play with scale, and use their bodies to interrupt light beams.?? Recommended for ages 5 and up.
