DAFFODIL DAYS IN WICKFORD VILLAGE!

Catch up on some fresh air and sunshine as Wickford Village Merchants hosts many fun- filled family events and there is something for everyone!

WICKFORD VILLAGE, RI ??? The weekend of April 29 & 30, 2017, Wickford Village Merchants will host its Daffodil Days.?? The weekend is more than the flowers.?? It is about the joy of spring and renewal.??

With a village wide SHOP HOP and sidewalk sales all weekend there are gifts to be won and sales to be had!?? The Pony Rides on Saturday & Sunday and Reynolds Barn Goats on Saturday and offer sweet animals for the children to explore.??

The Roaming Road on Saturday & Sunday is fun for the whole family!?? Back by popular demand on Saturday & Sunday is the ???make it & take it??? create your own daffodil crown at Village Faire.?? New this year is ???Traveling in the Past: a Horse-Drawn Wagonette Tour with Historian Tim Cranston???.?? The cost is $25 per person for an hour long tour and the wagonette accommodates 10.?? Reservations can be made at www.newdealcarriage.com.

On Saturday:?? adults can partake in the Tasting at the Wickford Package Store. Canvasworks will be hosting local North Kingstown author Susan Letendre for the signing of her book ???Bonnie, Our Backyard Bunny???.?? -Sew-Op will offer a Daffodil Counted Cross Stitch project.?? Stop by to get started or spend the afternoon!?? Cost is $20.??

On Sunday: ??teens and Adults can have henna art applied at Midnight Sun or get their tarot cards read in a 20 minute session by Maribeth McNair at Grateful Heart.?? And for community service, a Free Electronics Recycling Drop Off Event by Indicycle, will be in Town Parking Lot on Sunday.?? They collect computers, phones, stereos, batteries and more.?? A $10 disposal fee for laser jet printers and anything with a coolant in it.?? www.indiecycle.com

???Last year???s Daffodil Days were amazing!?? The Wickford Village Merchants came together to put on a great fun-filled weekend for everyone,??? says Carrie P. Mitchell, Daffodil Days Event Coordinator. ???We put a lot into two-days and it is worth it because people come back year after year.???

11am & 1pm: Traveling in the Past: A Horse-Drawn Carriage Tour of the Wickford Shoreline with Historian Tim Cranston

12noon-4pm:?? Village Faire will be offering a ???make it -take it??? craft.?? Folks can swing by the deck and make a daffodil wreath for their hair, crowning themselves Princess??or Queen of Spring!?? FREE (83 Brown Street)

12noon-5pm:?? Hop on board the Roaming Railroad!?? Adults and Kids alike can take a ride around the village on this charming trackless train.?? $3 per ride.?? (Town Parking Lot)

12noon-5pm:?? Grateful Heart will host Maribeth McNair for Tarot Card Readings.?? Readings are 20 minutes long for $30. (17 West Main Street)

1-4pm:?? Beauty and the Bath will host Reynold???s Barn Goats! They love to be held and petted and children of all ages are enamored by them. FREE?? (11 West Main Street)

1-4pm:?? Wickford Package Store is hosting a wine tasting of Gooseneck Vineyards wines.?? Stop in to try some delicious wines!?? Gooseneck Vineyards is based in Wickford, RI.?? FREE (41 West Main Street)

2-4pm:?? Canvasworks+ is hosting a children???s book signing of ???Bonnie, Our Backyard Bunny??? by local North Kingstown, author Susan Letendre. Illustrated by Saulo Serran, one of Cuba???s most well-known and best loved artists.?? The book is a collaboration across cultures. ????Books are available in English in softcover and hardcover and Spanish in hardcover.?? Cost is based on type of book.?? (10 Main Street)
