Kids and adults learn what’s so funny about trash during an interactive family comedy that gives a lighthearted look at the three R???s of protecting the environment ??? reducing, reusing and recycling.?? Four 20-minute shows at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM; recommended for ages 5 and up.

Children ages 3 and up listen to and participate in the telling of silly stories written by popular children???s book author Mo Willems.

Magnet Play

Monday, May 8 – Friday, May 12?? ????? 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Experiment and sculpt with magnets to explore the playful power of magnetism in Discovery Studio, the Museum???s open-ended art and science exploration space.?? Artfully arrange magnetic stones, test objects to see what’s magnetic, and steer objects through mazes with a magnet wand.

Play and Learn: Bugs in Boxes

Tuesday, May 9?? ????? 10:00 AM – Noon

Play and Learn is the Museum???s open-ended story-based program especially for 2- to 4-year-olds and their parents, designed to help preschoolers build their skills in a variety of areas and to help parents continue the learning at home.?? This week, preschoolers practice sorting and develop spatial awareness as they find just the right size boxes to fit various bugs.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Be My Neighbor Day

Wednesday, May 10?? ????? 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Build with big blue Imagination Playground blocks, try other creative hands-on activities, and join a meet and greet with Daniel Tiger, presented in partnership with Rhode Island PBS.

Toddler Try-It: Magnet Magic

Friday, May 12?? ????? 10:00 AM – Noon

Young children, ages 18 months to 3 years, use real tools and explore the creative process as they delve into different hands-on art and science activities each Friday morning.?? This week, toddlers paint with magnetic marbles.

Mother???s Day Bead Making??

Saturday, May 13 & Sunday, May 14?? ????? 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Create a variety of beads and bead jewelry in celebration of Mother’s Day.?? Mold, sculpt and roll beads from paper, clay and other materials and use them to make necklaces, keychains and more!?? Admission is free for moms and grandmoms on Sunday, May 14 from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
