Rhode Island Memories Scanning Session

Newport Historical Society to host The Pediment Group, a publishing company, for a public scanning session of historic photographs.

Newport, RI ??? On Friday, April 13, 2018 from 3pm to 6pm, The Pediment Group will hold a scanning event at the Newport Historical Society Resource Center at 82 Touro Street, Newport, Rhode Island.

Photos that the public bring in to be scanned will be considered for publication in the Providence Journal???s forthcoming publication ???Rhode Island Memories: The Early Years,??? an heirloom quality book that will concentrate on the photographic era up to 1939.

In addition to images shared by the public, the book will feature images from the Newport Historical Society??? s photo collection and from other Rhode Island institutions.??

The submission guidelines as follows: General interest photos, such as: commerce, industry, transportation, rural life, public service, etc., photos taken from??1800 through 1939, photos only ??? preferably original photos (no newspaper clippings or photocopies), photos taken in Rhode Island; one submission form per photo; limit 10 photos per family; no appointment necessary.
