Sailing Towards My Father: A One-man Play at the Weaver Library
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. ????? Acclaimed for his performance as Walt Whitman, Massachusetts actor Stephen Collins??returns to Weaver Library in Sailing Towards My Father on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 7 pm.
Written and staged by Carl A. Rossi, the play???s focus is Herman Melville, the American author best known for his whaling epic Moby- Dick.
Sailing Towards My Father chronicles Melville???s life from youth to old age, concentrating on his evolution as a writer and his complex relationships with God, his parents and siblings, his wife and children, and Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Stephen Collins currently performs nine one-man shows and has been met with rave reviews for over a decade. In taking on the persona of Melville, Collins brings the character and the 1800s to life.
