JENNIFER

???Jennifer has an entrepreneurial spirit with an emphasis on community engagement that will lay a strong foundation for CityArts as we enter the next quarter century of the organization,??? says Board Chair Christina Alderman”. Jennifer will lead CityArts as it works with community partners to create important out-of-school programming essential for the development of social and creative skills, in keeping with the organization???s mission.”

A resident of South Providence,??Jennifer previously served as Festival Director for the Pawtucket Arts Festival, a month-long celebration of arts and culture. During those two years, she oversaw operations, fund development and marketing. Concurrently, as Executive Director for the Congress for New Urbanism, Vincent orchestrated programming, fund development, long-term planning and marketing. Her achievements there included co-designing and co-launching ???Year of the City: A Providence Project,??? an unprecedented collaboration of historical and cultural institutions in Providence.

???I’m delighted to join CityArts,” enthused Jennifer, an artist herself whose curatorial commissions have been supported by local and regional grants.” At CityArts, young artists first learn that art-making is a way to express their ideas, celebrate their humanity, and make sense of a complex world.”

“I was immediately drawn to how CityArts uses art to champion its students’ sense of who they are and where they are from, paving a path for our city’s youngest citizens to actively participate in the Creative Capital,??? she added.

A graduate of Tunxis Community Collete and Brown University, Jennifer has called Providence home since 2001. From 2003 to 2006, Jennifer owned and operated The Nat Porter, an award-winning restaurant in Warren, RI, dedicated to sustainable foodways. She is a proud mom of her 13-year-old son and celebrates her passion for locally-grown food in her small, verdant garden plot.

Providence ??CityArts! for Youth was founded by Sister Ann Keefe in 1992, with a passionate commitment to the arts as a vehicle for preparing youth, empowering them to improve their future and their world. The organization continues to serve Providence youth and remains dedicated to implementing and amplifying its mission.
