One of New England’s leading jazz groups, the Bruce Abbott/Fred Fried Quintet featuring Marcelle Gauvin returns to the Cultural Center to perform timeless classics made famous by America’s greatest singers: Sarah Vaughan (Embraceable You), Ella Fitzgerald (Someone to Watch over Me), Dionne Warwick (What the World Needs Now), Barbra Streisand (People), Karen Carpenter (Rainy Days and Mondays), Whitney Houston (Greatest Love of All), Aretha Franklin (Natural Woman, and more!
The all-star quintet, led by Bruce Abbott on flute and saxophone and Fred Fried on 8-string guitar, features the fabulous vocalist Marcelle Gauvin, with bassist Michael Lavoie and drummer Miki Matsuki. $20, $18 for members.
