SANDY HACKETT’S RAT PACK SHOW RETURNS TO THEATRE BY THE SEA ON JULY 29
WAKEFIELD, RI – Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) owner and producer Bill Hanney is proud to announce the return of Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show. The production which opened Theatre By The Sea’s 2014 season and returned at the end of that season, is back by popular demand for two performances on Monday, July 29 as part of the Monday Concerts and Events Series.
“Our audiences can’t get enough of Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show,” said Bill Hanney. “We originally scheduled a single performance and it sold so fast that we have added a matinee performance, which is now selling very quickly!”

Sandy Hackett’s father, legendary comedian Buddy Hackett, made entertainment history along with his lifetime pals, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Joey Bishop. Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show brings back to life that magical moment in time that everyone wanted (and continues to want) access to. Producer Lisa Dawn Miller has her own personal connection to the Rat Pack. Her father, legendary songwriter Ron Miller, wrote numerous hit songs and standards including, “For Once in My Life,” which was recorded and performed by every member of the Rat Pack. Several of Miller’s hits, as well as some newly discovered original songs can be heard in this remarkable production.
Hackett and Miller have created a truly authentic, avant-garde theatrical production based on the musical and comedic legacy of the Rat Pack which captures the relationship, respect, love and laughter of a once-in-a-lifetime moment in history. Theatre By The Sea has had many incarnations since opening on August 7, 1933. Tommy Brent saved the theatre from demolition in 1967 and ran it successfully until FourQuest Entertainment took over the lease in 1988. Following extensive renovations, FourQuest reopened the theatre in the spring of 1989 and continued producing high quality entertainment at the seaside playhouse until the fall of 2003. Bill Hanney purchased the property in 2007 and, with producing partners, successfully mounted a production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, just six weeks later, reopening the historic theatre on August 8, 2007. Since then, Theatre By The Sea has continued to produce a four-musical subscription season, a late-night cabaret series, a children’s theatre festival, and a children’s summer theatre camp.
