MAYOR’S HOLIDAY DINNER

The Annual Mayor’s Holiday Dinner Welcomed Over 100 Residents

PAWTUCKET – Mayor Donald R. Grebien and numerous volunteers served over 100 residents at the Annual Mayor’s Holiday Dinner yesterday. Volunteers consisted of representatives from the City Council, state delegation, federal delegation, and community advocates.

“The Holiday Dinner was a great event,” said Mayor Grebien. “There is nothing more heartwarming than enjoying a meal, laughs, and smiles on a cold day like yesterday. I thank all of the volunteers who were present on this joyous occasion as well as all of the businesses whose generous contribution s made the event a success.”

The free event was held this year at Holy Family Church located at 195 Walcott Street in Pawtucket. The Holiday Dinner has always enjoyed the company of a guest wait staff and this year was no different. Joining Mayor Grebien as guest servers were representatives from Congressman Cicilline’s Office, Senator Whitehouse’s Office, Councilor John Barry, Councilor Mark Wildenhain, Councilor Albert Vitali, Representative Johnston, Representative Lyle, School Committee Chairman Jay Charbonneau, School Committee Member Roberto Moreno, and Redevelopment Agency Larry Monastesse. Acting Public Safety Director and Police Chief Tina Goncalves, Public Works Director Eric Earls, Leon Mathieu Senior Center Director Mary Lou Moran, and EMA Director Dave Deloge were amongst others in attendance.

Traditional holiday cuisine was served at the dinner including; turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing and cranberry sauce. An assortment of pastries, cakes and deserts were also provided through the generosity of local Pawtucket establishments.
