9th Annual Poetry & Art BEGINS with a CALL for ART
North Kingstown (RI) – Wickford Art Association (WAA) announces the launch of the 9th Annual Poetry & Art project. An annual event whereby original art or original poetry lead a response from our creative community, 2021’s theme is COLOR and will be led by original artwork. Member and Non-Member artists are invited to submit one (1) to three (3) original works, created within the past 3 years, and not previously shown at member or juried exhibits at Wickford Art Association.
All works will be juried by a panel of Juried-Artist-Members and approximately 40 works will be selected for inclusion in the October 2021 exhibit, a full Virtual Gallery, and a limited-edition publication. Each work will be assigned to a poet selected through jury to then create a responsive written work. The paired artworks and poems will be displayed throughout the October exhibit and as companions in the 2021 Poetry & Art book.

The Wickford Art Association is a non-profit organization with approximately 450 members from Rhode Island and across New England. The association hosts art exhibits, classes, lectures, and workshops in its North Kingstown gallery and has produced the summertime Wickford Art Festival since 1962.
