ATTLEBORO LAND TRUST: WORK PARTY

Work Party with Evan on June 9th at the Lawrence Preserve

Starting next Wednesday, Evan (the TerraCorps member for the ALT) will be holding weekly work parties completing tasks on the various ALT properties. These work parties will be held on Wednesdays and usually run from 9am to 12pm (noon). Next Wednesday (June 9th) will be the first work party at the Anthony Lawrence Wildlife Preserve. We will need 3-4 volunteers to help out, and the work party may not take the entire three hours to complete. Please send an email to Evan (evanfosterALT@gmail.com) or reply directly to this email if you are planning on attending. Please see more details below.

Location and Parking: Coming from downtown Attleboro on Route 123 west you will pass the South Attleboro American Legion on your right. Hope Avenue is the next left. Park on the right side of the street as you approach the end of Hope Avenue. Please avoid blocking any of the neighbors’ mailboxes.

In keeping with current guidelines, we will follow these COVID-19 precautions:

— Everyone must wear a mask if closer than 6 feet to a non-household member.

— Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please bring your own:

— face mask

— work gloves

— water

Any cancellations due to weather will be posted on our website attleborolandtrust.org

WORK PARTY – WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9

Location: Anthony Lawrence Wildlife Preserve

End of Hope Avenue

Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 noon

Tasks will include:

— Trimming branches that are encroaching on the Pipeline Trail

— Weed whacking the trail where grass has overgrown

— Removing branches that have fallen on the trail

Tools needed will include:

— Loppers, pruning shears, pruning saws, and other pruning tools

— Lawn rakes

— Weed whacker

— Possibly a lawn mower

We will have some tools, but bring what you have. If you can bring a weed whacker or lawn mower, please let Evan know!

Dress accordingly for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Insect repellent will be supplied.
