MUSEUM CONCERTS SEASON 55: 2021 – 2022

We are excited to bring you a new season
of early music concerts.

After our six performances last season in Covid time, we are grateful to be able to continue this 2021-22 season with our regular programming. In times of hardship and worry, music is a much-needed balm for the soul. We hope you will both subscribe, and give as generously as you are able to help us bring the best of early music to Rhode Island.

As you will see below – our coming season is particularly far-reaching: ranging from the 11th century chant by the German mystic, Hildegard von Bingen, through the vigor of Beethoven’s works for pianoforte and cello. In between we offer two Renaissance programs – an intimate program of music from the time of Charles II, and a majestic, noisy program of German Brass music for Christmas! To open the season on Sept 26th, our own Providence Baroque Orchestra explores the works of Bach and Telemann.

Three of the programs take place at our usual venue – the historic First Unitarian Church, and two other programs in other suitable locations – the October Beethoven program will take place in the Great Hall at St Martin’s, to allow the intimacy of a salon performance, and the May concert will pair soaring Medieval chants with the generous acoustic of St. Joseph Church on Hope Street. We look forward to seeing you at the concerts! And please do subscribe, and get a free pair of passes to introduce others to our wonderful programs – the best place to be on Sunday afternoons in Providence!

Our season brochures are coming soon or you may order tickets on our website at

Now, more than ever, we value the joy that live performance brings,

Your own generous donations will help keep the music playing.

Thank you and see you at the concerts!
