ATTLEBORO LAND TRUST- APRIL 30TH – LEACH SANCTUARY

As previously announced, the Attleboro Land Trust will hold a clean-up this Saturday, April 30, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  We would welcome your help.

 The location will be the Phil and Ginny Leach Wildlife Sanctuary, at the corner of Woodland Lane and Ridgewood Road.  http://attleborolandtrust.org/leach/

Directions:  From Attleboro Center, take Route 152 south for 1.5 miles, then turn left at light onto Locust Street. Take first right onto Raeburn Drive and go to end. Bear left onto Woodland Lane and go to end where it meets end of Ridgewood Road.

Maintenance activities will include:

 

— Relocating a short section of trail

 

— Removing invasive Japanese barberry shrubs

 

— Installing signposts

 

— Picking up trash

 

— Removal of yard waste that has been dumped on the property (pickup truck needed)

 

— Possibly transplanting some small trees

 

 

Tools needed will include:

 

— Shovels

 

— Standard rakes and leaf rakes

 

— Loppers, pruning shears, pruning saws, and other pruning tools

 

— String trimmers, weed whackers, brush cutters

 

— Wheelbarrows

 

— Tarps

We will have some tools, but please bring what you have.  Trash bags will be provided.

Dress accordingly for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Insect repellent will be supplied. Please bring your own:

— Work gloves

 

— Water

Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
