FIRSTWORKS – FREE CONCERT

FirstWorks Summer Beats Free Concert Series Kicks off this Sunday with Rhode Island’s Own Hip-Hop Phenomenon Flawless

Rap and hip-hop star lays down the real talk at The People’s Park

Providence, RI—Members of the community are invited to attend, and Media are welcome to cover the FirstWorks Summer Beats free concert series in the gorgeous outdoor setting of the Roger Williams Park Bandstand. Presented in partnership with Roger Williams Park Conservancy and the Providence Parks Department, this series kicks off Sunday, July 24, 2022 with Rhode Island’s very own Flawless. Alberto Martinez, also known as Flawless, emerged to international acclaim following his success on Netflix’s 2019 smash reality TV show “Rhythm + Flow.” Originally from Rhode Island, Flawless broke into the music industry as an Atlanta transplant in 2010, opening for acclaimed acts like Ludacris, Rick Ross, and Tech N9ne. Flawless’ set will have a mix of modern and fresh songs. He brings his performance back to the Creative Capital – where it all began.

Two talented vocal artists with regional roots will open for Flawless in this stellar concert event. Raiche is an Atlantic Records artist exuding breezy vocals and a unique singing style. She is a New England native who was born and raised in Pittsfield, MA. Her single “Drive” was recently featured in the acclaimed series “Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker” on Netflix. She will be performing her new single, “Fool,” at this concert event.

Local youth artist Soraiya will also open the free concert with a song. Soraiya is an accomplished Dominican-American singer/songwriter, pianist and actor with an R&B vibe. A theater and music major at Trinity Academy of the Performing Arts in Providence, she has performed at many Rhode Island events including PVDFest and India Point 4th of July Celebration. Soraiya is the official spokesperson for the non-profit organization, Caritas Smiles, which is a charity dedicated to empowering and educating women worldwide.

Local shake truck Juice Junkie, a PVD Food Truck Event, will be offering colorful sustenance to concert attendees through their menu of high quality smoothies and acai bowls, as well as vegan options. Park visitors can advance order through their website: https://thejuicejunkie.square.site/ and pick up at the truck starting at 5 PM.

The FirstWorks Summer Beats concert series offers globe-spanning Afro-Rican jazz, hip-hop, and Ukrainian roots music performances to provide joy, discovery and renewal to audiences. For the full series line-up visit http://firstworks.org.
