Five of Douglass’ legendary speeches represent a different moment in the tumultuous history of 19th century America as well as a different stage of Douglass’ long and celebrated life.

The power of the voices of the five actors who perform offers an opportunity to hear the power of his words then and their relevance to issues we face today.

A moderated community conversation about the film will follow the screening.
