Accepting Fourth Term, Whitehouse Thanks Rhode Islanders for Strong Vote of Confidence
PROVIDENCE, RI – Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) this evening thanked Rhode Islanders for their strong vote of confidence as he accepted a fourth term representing the Ocean State in the United States Senate:
“It’s an honor to fight every single day on behalf of Rhode Islanders, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me. I will spend the next six years working hard to make our government and economy work for all Rhode Islanders.
I’m in the middle of some big fights – leading the planet to safety in the race against climate change and restoring the integrity of the Supreme Court – and I’m heading back to work buoyed by this strong show of support.
As we await more results tonight, I want to once again take a moment to thank all Rhode Islanders who made their voice heard to strengthen democracy.”
