GIRL SCOUTS OF SOUTHEASTERN NEW ENGLAND – GLIMMER OF HOPE FOUNDATION

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England Donates Proceeds to Glimmer of Hope Foundation

WARWICK, RI Each cookie season, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) selects a local organization to be the recipient of our annual Cookie Program Community Service Project. Troops and individual Girl Scouts from GSSNE are given the option to donate a portion of their cookie program proceeds to this organization and learn more about their work. The 2026 Cookie Program Community Service Project this year was The Glimmer of Hope Foundation. GSSNE is excited to announce that $2,605 has been donated to this remarkable nonprofit organization!

The Glimmer of Hope Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Alison “Ali” Hornung in honor of her late friend Ella, who passed away from leukemia in 2019. Dedicated to supporting children and families impacted by childhood cancer, Glimmer of Hope provides unique programs such as bald dolls that help children feel represented, Best Day Ever photoshoots, Hope for the Holidays family sponsorships, the Courageous Moms Collective, and the annual Glimmer Gala runway event. Since its founding, the organization has raised close to $1 million, donated thousands of dolls, and partnered with hospitals, schools, and businesses to bring light and comfort to families in the darkest of times, ensuring that no child fights cancer alone.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program—the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world—funds life-changing programs, experiences, and learning for local youth and Girl Scout troops all year long. 100% of the proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie Program stay local, powering essential leadership development programming and meaningful community impact.

“Girl Scouts is proud to support Glimmer of Hope Foundation, a nonprofit established in honor of a local Girl Scout who bravely battled pediatric cancer. Through this partnership, our Girl Scouts are helping bring hope and support to children and families facing similar challenges. Our Cookie Program is about so much more than selling cookies.  It gives girls the opportunity to develop lifelong leadership and business skills while learning the importance of compassion, service, and community. Supporting Glimmer of Hope Foundation allows our Girl Scouts to honor the legacy of one of our own and see firsthand how their efforts can make a meaningful impact in the lives of others,” said Ginger Lallo, Chief Operating Officer at Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England.

We are Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character. We serve all of Rhode Island, 13 communities in Massachusetts, and one in Connecticut.

Girl Scouts discover who they are, tap into the power inside them, and build the confidence to let it shine. Through programs across Southeastern New England, girls and gender-expansive youth of all backgrounds and abilities come as they are to explore their passions, meet new challenges, and develop hands-on skills. They find their strengths in science labs and on hiking trails, at cookie booths and in front of city councils. Backed by millions of alums and a network of dedicated adult volunteers and mentors, Girl Scouts drive change to make the world a better place. Along the way, they uncover the tools they need to lead with joy, on their own terms. Join usvolunteerreconnect, or donate.
