About Heathers The Musical: High School Edition
Heathers The Musical (High School Edition) is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers, but before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather???s aerobicized butt… but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.
About Auditions
Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 18th, and Tuesday, June 19th, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 50 Rolfe Square Cranston, RI. You are only required to attend one of these three audition days unless you are contacted with information saying otherwise.
For the audition please be prepared to sing 16 to 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. SONGS FROM THE SHOW ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Please also be prepared to be given sides of scenes from the show and cold read scenes with other auditioners. Anyone auditioning must be over the age of 15 due to the dark themes that run throughout this show. Anyone that is 15 to 17 years old MUST either bring a note of permission of participation from their guardian to the audition or bring their guardian into the audition to sign off that they are allowing their child to participate.
Attendance to Tech Week is MANDATORY and you will not be considered for the show if you cannot attend the technical rehearsals held everyday from August 19th to 23rd.
Attendance to both show dates, August 24th and 25th, and all three shows is MANDATORY and you will not be considered for the show if you cannot attend them.
